NBS Theatre is Buller’s Premiere Cinema and live theatre venue. Everything from the latest digital blockbuster movies to Arthouse film, NZ content, MetOpera and anything we can get our hands on! We have a fantastic venue for live theatre, meetings, gatherings, presentations and even birthday parties. We are also a wet weather venue for weddings and can cater for a large crowd for funerals. We can offer 3 different size rooms. The Bill Moffit Cinema is our number 1 cinema with 55 raked seat and screens all the latest blockbuster movies in 2D and 3D using the latest digital technology. Our 2nd cinema, Fred Gregory Screen Room, seats up to 22 and has 2 couches for your relaxation. This is a very popular room for parties and small meetings.The NBS Theatre Auditorium is our live theatre with up to 375 raked seats, a flat floor stage, 2 dressing rooms a green room and a small commercial kitchen. Every year we are busy with our local community content which covers everything from the Buller Country Music Best of the West Awards weekend, to the Westport Performing Arts week long Competitions. School shows, Christmas dancing show which runs for a 3 day season in the beginning of December and has been running for 10 years.
